My cat is regressing. She has always been youthful, but has decided to start acting like a kitten again. She woke me up around 1am this morning, screaming and galloping around the house (anyone with a Siamese will tell you just how vocal they can be). Just as I drifted back to sleep, she snuck into our room, crept over to the wardrobe we have in the corner and batted the door open. I awoke to the *creeeeak* of the door, followed by the illusion of movement in the room, as the door's mirror reflected the light around. I nearly peed the bed!

She then had to roam around the entire bed, looking for a suitably soft spot before tucking in. I'm fairly sure she fell asleep immediately. I on the other hand was concerned that I had had a minor myocardial infarction and could not coax my brain back to sleep.
Who does she think she is?

Our Siamese refuses to let anyone sleep in. When she thinks it's playtime, she gets on the bed and meows and throws herself into you. You get your butt out of bed, feed her and play. And then, she goes off to sleep, while you're tired but unable to fall asleep. O_O

Thankfully, the only closet she can open is the one in the kitchen with the chips and crackers in it.

Hope you managed to get some sleep!

It's amazing the stuff we put up with *g*.

My cat would chew through the bags to get at chips.

That reminds me of those commercials they used to run to "test your heart."

Hooray for kitteny cats! My Mario is like that; she goes to grab a toy at 1 or 2 a.m., and howls when she brings it to our room. She'd love it if we awoke to play fetch, but it never happens.

She does this every night, and sometimes it drives me crazy, other times I just think it's cute. :)

Aren't they supposed to be our pets and not the other way around?

We had to ban our cats from the bedroom at night. I'm a fairly light sleeper and couldn't handle it when they'd decide it was play time at 3am - which seemed to be every night. LOL

We did that in the summer as they were trying to jump onto our window sill and making a huge racket.

Now that it's winter, they usually just come into sleep, except for Mario (see my above post)

Oh good then...I'm not the only one.

We are on our "first cat" and she's around 7 months old. Last night she was literally running like a maniac all over the house. She was driving us bonkers. She was knocking things over left and right and was meowing etc. Finally I threw her downstairs, and she begged to come up with that meow again. When I let her up, she finally seemed settled down and fell asleep in the armchair in our bedroom.

She was driving us crazy though.

Heh. It's been a while since our old lady cat was like that, but they do get these weird bursts of energy in the middle of the night. My girl used to love skidding on the throw rugs. We'd find them crammed into the weirdest corners.
