Current Distraction: Darryl Brunt - Tainted Love
This is the first time I've watch Canadian Idol this round, and I'm watching a gawky 16-year old kid doing Soft Cell's 'Tainted Love'. Lets do the math on that: he was born in '89 and the song came out in '81 *wiping tears away*.

They called him the Jerry Lewis of Idol, but if I remember in an hour or so, I'll vote for him.
Who does she think she is?

Awww man, not fair! I wish we could see Canadian Idol. Some of those are real characters. Yeah-don't forget to vote. Okay, I'll go back to seeing the Marlins baseball game.

Yes, that Darryl kid is from my husbands home town (Sudbury). It's very funny watching MCTV (their local CTV affiliate) plugging the crap out of him.

Ya - turns out I liked almost all the guys, wasn't really impressed with any of the chicks...I like how small town everyone turns as soon as someone from their town hits this show.

Hey, totally off topic, and related to TV not radio, but do you know what the heck happened to all 'the new' stations? (RO, VR etc) They're all A Channels now? Was there a sale I missed? Or is it just rebranding? They all seem to still be CHUM tv.

I like your icon pic tonight :)

CHUM TV changes

Yes, there was a set of "A Channels" in Calgary, Edmonton, etc. that CHUM bought, and they decided to change the "New" series (RO, VR, NX, PL, VI, WI, etc.) to either the name "A Channel" or CITY. I'm glad they're dropping the "New" series... after 5-10 years, there's nothing new about the stations or their formats. Maybe they didn't want to over saturate with City names, hence keeping "A Channel". Not sure the meaning behind A... it makes sense in the Alberta stations, but not Ontario.

Ah that explains it! I thought I had gotten an A channel before with the dish!

I am so with you with the 'new' label too. The A channel format looked rather slick from what I saw last night, hubby called it American. It appears they don't do a lot that makes sense with naming their stations *g*
