KnitWit wedding prep

One of the Wits will be getting married this coming Saturday. To celebrate this happy occasion, the Wits decided to treat Heather (aka HeHo) to a mildly embarrassing night out, so we took her to The Courtyard restaurant. The 150-year old building was absolutely gorgeous, the food was amazing (I had the Japanese Pear Salad, Roasted Pork Tenderloin and the Gorgonzola Cheesecake - which, I can't believe I'm saying this, could have done with a few less hazelnuts. And I wonder why I'm not losing any weight) and we had a really good time. Upon arrival they seated us in the empty upper level. We figured this was good planning on their part, as there tends to be much snorting and the occassional shriek when we get together. Unfortunately (for the patrons) they did seat two other groups up there. One group were good sports and tended to be amused by our antics, the other group was further away, and included Gerard Kennedy.

I guess he is well on his way to gathering support for his leadership bid. I wonder what the chances are that I could become a delegate for that? I made it to the provincial one in '96 when Dalton ran against Gerard (as a Dalton delegate)...wonder who the Riding Association is supporting...hmm, must investigate.

Back to the evening. The Wits have learned from past experience and decided that rather than knitting something for HeHo (as it might get done for their 10th anniversary) we would quilt! She started off as one of the quieter Wits, but was almost speechless last night once we gave it to her. This has to be one of the hardest things we've done, as secret meetings have been going on since October. I believe I missed every one of them between school and IVF, but was copied on all the messages, and still had to keep straight who did what. As punishment for missing the quilting sessions they have determined that all the squares that didn't turn out exactly right are the ones I'm responsible for. *g*

Oh! The other best part of the evening was that Uncle Robbie decided to be our driver! We rented a mini-van type vehicle and piled in, allowing those who enjoy the wine to do so and still arrive home safely.

  • Every single moment

I woke up early Sunday morning to the pitter-patter of little feet followed by a plea to be helped into bed. I pulled her up and she quickly snuggled…
