Apr. 16th, 2007 @ 04:02 pm Yes, another post about the weather
The glaciers are not receding, they are just relocating - to my flippin' back yard! I guess this is payback for not having to deal with snow until January. I knew I should have cherished those spring-like days in December, Christmas shopping while the magnolias bloomed. Although the forecast is for 17/18C weather next weekend, I truly believe it will never come. Ontarians, Quebeckers, those from the Maritimes - all going the way of the wooly mammoth.

The dogs are loving it though, they would spend all their time outside rolling around in the snow if I weren't the big meanie that keeps hauling them in and drying them off.
Who does she think she is?

Leave the poor doggies outside. It's not everyday that they are in their own climate. I am sure that they are totally loving it while the humans freeze their nut sacks off. Glad it's only chilly here in Florida-couldn't handle that type of weather. Brrrrrr!

I'm doing okay. Pretty freaked out about the US next Tuesday - I've never made it past this point so I'm dwelling and stewing. I'll be much better after that!

And I am glad I didn't put the shovels away in the garage yet!

You are right, we had a late winter, but we are indeed paying the price right now! :D

There are still about 30 000 residences without electricity, especially in the Laurentides and Lanaudiere regions, (I am in Lanaudiere, but we have been lucky here, we have not lost electricity).

A woman Called Hydro-Quebec yesterday and the told her it could take about 4 days until her service is restablished...

I hope you your own electricity service wasn't cut either.

Holy smokes, Hydro Quebec really has to get their act together! I can't believe how often the power goes out for you guys. We experience it all the time at the cottage, but you expect that with trees and miles of wilderness. But when the west island is knocked out for 5 days like it was last August, they've got big problems.
