Knee-jerk reactions are often the scariest

I understand a country's need to 'defend' itself, but enacting measures like this, scare the hell out of me!

This interests me:
Allowing Britain to deport anyone who fosters hatred, or advocates violence to further beliefs, or justifies acts of violence. If they are British citizens, where would they be deported to? I'm fairly sure Australia doesn't want to go back to being a penal colony.

This other than the vague wording concerning terrorist activities, this phrase scares me the most - "Better integration" for people living in Britain who are "presently inadequately integrated."

And I thought some of the measures the US were taking were scary!

Another softball game, another wet t-shirt contest :)

Had a softball game at 6:30 last night. They were predicting a 60% chance of rain. It was sunny and stupid hot (34C) just before the game and it clouded over just as the game started. I think we made it to the 4th inning before it got horrid. As I was waiting to bat, the rain was coming in almost parallel to the ground, my back was getting soaked, and my front was completely dry. I think they got two pitches in on me before the skies opened. By the time I made it back to the bench, it was like I had been thrown in a lake - I was soaked! We quickly scrambled to gather up all the equipment - I think my sis ended up with the catcher's shin guards and second base(!) and headed out.

For some reason the weather had missed our house, so I pretty much looked like a freak getting out of the car dripping wet.

Can you tell I'm on a conference call?

Is it wrong that I am totally in lust with my hubby's bike? I rode it in this morning and I've been covetting it ever since. I've been trying to figure out how to change its ownership into my name - yes steal it. It is such a sweet ride, I'm surprised I stopped to come to work!

(no subject)

If one more person feels an overwhelming urge to comment on my sexual preference, solely on the basis of my haircut, I will have to punch them in the head poison them and smile sweetly as they die a slow, painful death.

I mean, really, what the hell are they thinking? And whenever it concerns me - they'd just better stop!

Canada's no-fly list

Well, I guess the day had to come. http://www.cbc.ca/story/canada/national/2005/08/05/lapierre-050805.html?ref=rss. Really, what chance does this have of securing airline travel? How much does Canada have to worry about this as a threat compared to how much trouble will this cause perfectly law-abiding citizens?

The scariest part of this all is that they are relying on information provided by the RCMP and CSIS - neither of which has a stellar reputation when it comes to investigating Canadians suspected of being dissidents.
