Back home safe and sound

Well although I arrived home exhausted Saturday night, I made it home safe and sound. The storm and aftermath were horrible here. 4 people died in one accident just east of the city - http://www.canada.com/globaltv/national/story.html?id=e91e53ec-32ff-4546-85e5-ca7062465e3c. Actually a fifth person died today. The pictures from the accident are horrible.

I think I'm all caught up on my sleep now, and finally back in the right timezone. I worked from home today which helped.

I just finished Naked in Death, by JD Robb. It is the first book in the series and I'm not sure whether I'm going to continue - any Eve fans out there? Even if you aren't a fan, I'm sure you've got an opinion *g*.

I'm now reading Al Franken - Lies, and he's making me laugh out loud. The irony of reading his book and believing it did strike me earlier today. I am going on the assumption that if he writes a book calling out the liars and asking for fact-checking, someone far more ambitious than me would have done so, I may get my lazy readerness motivated enough to do a google search or two.

Oh ya - the Knitting Olympics - I finished the first blanket yesterday and am almost through the first repeat (of 11) of the second. Yes, doing the math I'm behind, but I can handle it. I managed to make many un/mis-informed knitters jealous while flying. They all stopped by to chat and moan about having packed their needles. One of them even thwapped me! Good thing she was a fellow knitter. I pimped out The Harlot every chance I got too.

I have this great series of pics of the progress I was making on the blanket, but it doesn't seem to make sense to post them all at once now that I'm done. If I can get my butt motivated I'll try to do progress reports with the 2nd one.

Went out for dinner with the knitwits today. As they knew I was doing the IVF thing I told them about the positive we received - they were all super freaking out excited about it. Such a great group of friends. I can't believe the number of people that cry when we tell them. I am so not a water-head, I didn't even cry at my own wedding *g*. I am rather freaked out about the ultrasound on the 7th. I'm terrified that this is a chemical pregnancy or blighted ovum, or that there will be something wrong. I really have to get myself into a better frame of mind.

Olympic hockey - Canadian Chicks kick ass - total goals for and against in this tourney - 46-2!
