Float like a butterfly, busy as a bee

It seems that I spent the first 8 months of my pregnancy napping and am now trying to catch up - before my life changes forever (I so hear radio announcer voice when I type that).

This weekend was flat out. Friday I met with Adele again to pick up the smocking patterns, then I had lunch with some of the guys from work - our last get together before I'm gone for 13 months. We went to a new-to-me Pho place, and I really enjoyed it. Not only that, but it wasn't exclusively pho, so I think I might be able to get hubby to go with in the near future. Friday night I had a visit from Jenn C and her son, B, we had a great chat and she dropped over a shower gift for the little one. After a nice chat and some dinner for B she had to go pick up her other son from his hockey game, and I tried to get organized for the open house on Saturday.

I was up bright and early Saturday morning packing up my stock to go to Deb's. This was no easy task seeing as how I was up from 2-4 in the morning for no good reason, my butt was dragging every so slightly. She had 7 different vendors there and the day was pretty successful for me. At the rate that stock pile is going down, I soon may be able to fit it into the spare room. I recruited hubby to be my Sherpa, so no heavy lifting was encountered. So far I only have one crop left on the schedule, and that one is set to run November 30 - I should fire my secretary. What sort of crazy woman would agree to that?

Hubby spend the day clearing out the last little bits of my remaining craftiness from the room, prepped the walls to paint, and painted the ceiling:

He was slightly out of sorts at the fact that the entire house is upside down at the moment - he prefers everything in it's place, while I seem to thrive on a great deal of chaos; but I digress. In the aft I worked on finding new homes for some of the displaced items, then we headed over to friends' for dinner and a movie.

After being up for several hours in the middle of the night, and being up before the sun that morning, I was surprised that I was actually able to stay awake during the entire movie. Then again, it was The Departed, so I was rather engrossed, followed by completely shocked. It really reminded me of Serpico, until it took a left turn at Tarantino. We also picked up the crib they are lending to us, so as soon as the room is ready, it will be completely set up. The only thing we are missing now is curtains.

Thankfully I slept well last night, no crazy stretches of hours of wakefulness and no heartburn. Made getting up to make pancakes that much easier. Hubby got the first coat of primer on the walls:

and I managed to get the house presentable enough to have someone over. A meeting we had scheduled at 1 was delayed, and this allowed hubby the opportunity to locate a used dresser and 2 end tables for the room. While we were waiting for the new appointment, we dashed out and picked them up. Our house is now officially bursting at the seams.

Dana, from Forever Bellies stopped by at 4 this aft and took a cast of my belly!

(No, she wasn't ringing the doorbell to see if anyone was home)

I cannot wait to see how this turns out. I showed her several pieces of pottery that I really like and asked her to be inspired by them. We should have the belly bowl in 2 weeks or so.

Oh - and the last piece of news out of the house this weekend? We finally turned on the heat! The paint actually wasn't drying that well at 15C so I am now roasting. I was teasing hubby that the weather forecast shows it's supposed to be 12C later this week so I'll be turning it back off *g*, but I am seriously interested to see how I'll sleep this tonight.

This week is just as busy, so far I think I'm only home on Wednesday night. Thankfully I'm done work on Wed, so I should be able to get more done during the day - things like pre-admitting at the hospital (should have been done by 34w - eep!), and my pedicure and SEWING! Lots and lots of sewing, which I've been neglecting lately.

My cat is nuts

She is a source of amusement, even when she doesn't try. Here she is basking in the sun this afternoon. She is sleeping, dead to the world:

I know it looks like she's trying to clean some really hard to reach spot, but here's further proof:

Note the dent in the cushion. She may only weigh just over 5lbs, but she's there enough to gouge out her little spot.

She also managed to freak Dana out this afternoon, running around crying her fool head off. Siamese cats have an uncanny ability to sound just like a human baby (oh - did I ever mention Ceebee stands for ChatterBox?)

We may not see much of her for a while though, she hasn't moved off the register since the furnace kicked on *g*.
