May. 24th, 2007 @ 02:00 pm What?
It is May and I feel shame. I had to turn on the AC today, I just couldn't handle it anymore. It's 31C/90F out, and was about 30C/86F in the house. I claim I did it for the pups, but it was really for me. I've got the AC set to 25C/77F, so I'm not completely guilty, but still, it's May!

And I'm completely craving a Chipwich or the Good Humour equivalent. Unfortunately it appears they stopped selling them up here about 2 years ago. I have sent of pleading emails to both companies. I'll find them yet! Otherwise I'll have to make them myself.
Who does she think she is?

Then I would definitely go with your backup plan - make them yourself. (And send me one while you're at it :-)

It's been about the same tempature here as well. I have been itching to turn on the air, but I'll wait until I can't stand the heat anymore. Ice cream sounds good right about now too.

My can't stand it threshold is pretty low this year, which is funny because usually my goosebumps only go away at 24C/74F!

It wasn't even 90 here, and I had my a/c turned on! I made my hubby put it in last night(ah yes, our home is too old for central air) - there is no way I am seeing 80s-90s in the forecast and NOT having it in while he's gone for the weekend!

Ooooooo...now I'm hungry for a Chipwich...

You guys are having it crazy bad this year aren't you? I heard that they are talking about cutting back power now due to reduced hydro output.

Hubby and I have turned ours on once or twice as well. I can handle it better than he can; it was 28 degrees in the house the other day and I was fine but he wanted to cool things off a bit so turned it on for awhile and then off a little later after the house had cooled down. That made it more comfortable to sleep anyway.

This year, we have two guinea pigs in the house. While our cats can regulate their temperatures rather well, our piggies cannot; so we're trying to be mindful of that. Usually, we set our thermostat at 25 or 26 in the hot, hot heat of summer. That heat seems to have come early this year though! Whew! We're breaking records all over the place aren't we Neeroc?!

We're about the same - 25 to 26. It takes the edge off. I'm sure if we had a pool we'd use it even less, a dip before bed would help with the sleeping comfort.

The weather is crazy! My poor lawn is arid, and I loathe watering it.
