Jul. 18th, 2007 @ 11:12 pm 1 day until vacation!
I cannot wait for my vacation this year. We don't really have anything planned, 2 very large dogs put a crimp in a lot of our travelling plans, I never liked the idea of doggie jail, and considering all the upset in Sasha's life these past 7 months, I wouldn't do that to her. The only concrete plans we have are to head up to the cottage on Friday (our 11th anniversary!!) and spend a relaxing weekend in the woods. We are still trying to sort out what to do with Ceebee, I would like to leave her with my mother, but hubby feels that either someone should stay here with her, or she should come with us (familiar place or people). The only problem with that is she does not travel well. She works herself into a complete state on the 10 minute trip to the vet's, I can't imagine 2 hours each way in a car crammed with us and the dogs. We are still trying to see the logic of each other's desires.

For the two weeks after that I have some vague ideas about working on bunches of stuff off my 101 in 1001 days list. I figure the touristy stuff for sure, and there are about 19 things we can definitely work on. My vacations are funny - I'm either a total loaf, and then feel they've raced by and I haven't accomplished anything, or they are crammed with stuff to do and I need a vacation from my vacation. I'm hoping for some balance this year, check back in a couple of weeks.

Ah - and the de-stashing. The biggest part of moving my craft room is going to be getting my stash down to a manageable size. This has the added bonus of lots of knitting, and lots of finished objects at the end. I just have to find the time/energy/interest to do it now.

Speaking of knitting, I explained to my mother that I was planning on using wool soakers over cloth diapers, and I could tell she thought that was the most disgusting thing she'd ever heard of *g*.

Freecyclers make me nervous:

The crib mattress has a couple of tears that have been repaired with
duct tape and the baby gate was given to us and we were told it was
broken but it seems to work ok...

So I guess the deal is you stick the mattress to the baby in case he pitches down the stairs when the gate fails. *sigh*
Who does she think she is?

I don't know if you know them, but Jeri and Jeani make all their own stuff -- diapers, covers, onesies, etc. You should check them out. The links to their stores, etc. are on Jeri's user info -- lizardjee. They've also had a lot of child losses and used IVF, etc., so you may have a bit in common.
