Jan. 23rd, 2008 @ 12:11 am Good numbers day
Scales:
I'm 10 pounds away from my pre-pregnancy weight, and I'm starving all the time!. I'm sure it will bite me in the arse one of these days, but I'm enjoying it for now. (We won't discuss the additional 30lbs I'm carrying compared to my pre-fertility treatments/still smoking days. They are tagging along quietly at the moment, no sense getting them all riled up).

Crafting:
I bought a snap press! It is being shipped from China, but it, plus 2 different sets of dies, and about a bazillion snaps and shipping came to less than the cost that sites over here were charging just for the press kit. I so can't wait to use this.

Mat leave:
Finally came through!!! And they didn't mess it up at all, I've gotten paid for the past five weeks. The trick now will to watch me, who never budgeted, try to live off a fraction of my salary. I've actually caught myself wondering if I really need craft supplies *gasp*

and in a 'the government is no longer jacking me around' double-header:

MOT and my car:
I was able to renew the plates on my car! I went in last night at 4:40 and they close at 5:00. I was fully prepared to be escorted to the door when 5:00 rolled around and I wasn't at the counter, but they let me stay! And they served me! I couldn't tell if it was any more or less grudgingly, but I was able to complete the transaction and I no longer need to be worried about every cop I pass pulling me over.

However, they wanted to make sure that I wasn't feeling completely abandoned, so it appears that customs has decided to eat a package of hemp fleece I was having shipped up from the states. According to the USPS tracking #, the package left O'Hare on the 16th, and they have no further information. This in itself it torture. I'm used to untracked packages. They leave the shipper and show up here between 2 days and 2 months later. But to actually have a tracking number and have something not get updated is just cruel! Talk to me dammit! I need daily progress reports. I want to see that little bundle happily marching it's way to my door. I want to be surfing that page at the moment the postman rings my bell and watch the status change to 'delivered'. Or at least a weekly update.
Who does she think she is?
