Turns out we are now talking about 2 lost stoves. That's right, the drivers that picked up the first stove never filed the paperwork for it, so the paperwork machine doesn't know to credit me for it, still. I'm now accruing interest, which the sales manager assures me she will take care of, but I'm not holding my breath on that one. So, moving on to the new stove, it's just gone. It would appear that the pre-inspection we asked for threw a spanner in the works, because it was pulled for inspection, and that's the last anyone heard of it. We are clearly not meant to have this stove.
In case you're wondering why we aren't losing it completely and sending everything back, they've been really generous with the monetary compensation, knocking a couple hundred off here, a couple more there, plus the upgraded stove, so really we are not going to find a better deal for these anywhere.
Oh and in case you're wondering, this isn't some dinky fly-by-night operation, they've been around since the late 1800's and operate throughout North America. Are they too big? I can't say what the issue is.
