Had my follow-up visit with the RE today. My regular doctor (Dr. C) was out of the office (I knew this when the appointment was made) but the clinic has a team approach, so I was prepared to see another doctor (Dr. H). Unfortunately, because this appointment was made through the fertility centre, and not the doctors office - it was the follow up to the failed FET in May - they only had the file for the FETs and not my full file including my IVF rounds. As we don't have any more frozen embies, we need to do another full IVF round. But Dr. H really couldn't tell me much, such as possible modifications to the therapy, as he had no history. We had previously discussed ICSI with Dr. C and I conveyed our interest in using this procedure. Last IVF round only 2 of our eggs made it to day 3, with less than 1/4 initially fertilizing. Dr. H did inform me that as it has been over a year since the last round of IVF, we will have to re-do all of the testing - Hep B,C, HIV as well as Day 3 ovarian reserves and other assorted poking and prodding. So, although my next Day 1 should be around the 19th, we will not be starting until at least July. As well, Dr. H will make recommendations to Dr. C, but I have to go back for an initial consult with Dr. C anyways!

Dr. H did reassure me that trying the transfer with only two embies last time was something that he would have done. He understood that we had to do some arm-twisting to get Dr. C to agree to it, as he is generally opposed to this risk. So I now feel a bit better about that, even though it failed. That was about the only good thing to come out of this frustrating visit.
