Things have been coasting along here fairly well. I was totally obsessed with watching the Olympics. The time difference was great for starting events, but it means that I was up until all hours watching the recaps of the stuff I missed. Many nights I found myself on the digital interactive channel, which basically gives you 6 PiP sized screens, one for each broadcast/event.
Following the twitter streams has been very cool for the events too, it just adds another dimension to the viewing experience, and the volume of posts is so huge usually that the jerk-factor is pretty low.
In the spirit of the Winter Games, we got V out on her skates a couple of weeks ago:
She LOVED it. She started asking 'again?' as soon as her blades were off her feet. She still asks us all the time now to go skating, sadly things have been above zero here for a week or so, the City has closed the rinks for the season. We'll have to find a new distraction for her, luckily she's already talking about getting her bike out.
Speaking of bikes, I haven't been on a motorized one in many years now, first with pregnancies then the whole 'I'm someone's mom' factor. Oh and not having one of my own. In the hopes of easing back in to it, as well as what I think is a geeky-cool factor (and a really great deal that hubby managed to find) we've picked up one of these:
Yep, a 1979 Vespa PX125 *g* I cannot wait to get it on the road! It's currently grey, not sure if we'll keep it original or what yet. Hubby had to have a chat with the guy in town that works on them. Apparently he likes to interview new owners before agreeing to work on their vintage bikes LOL.
