Hubby just keeps surprising me!

On Tuesday he told me not to make plans for Thursday night, he had something in the works. Sis and I had been talking about doing stuff, so on Wed, I told her it was out. Hubby kept kinda bugging me to guess, but I'm trying to turn over a new leaf. I realize that there might be a challenge in trying to find out surprises early, but once you do, its a big letdown. So I didn't check to see what was happening in town (yep - behaved for 2 whole days!).

Last night I decided to cook din, since he was doing something nice for me. It was great, he kept trying to get me to guess, from the time he got home until we arrived he was like a little kid. We headed out a bit early, hit the DQ, then wandered around the gardens at the Experimental Farm. Finally we headed downtown, and only when we were pulling up to the National Arts Centre did he hand me the envelope with 2 tickets to Mamma Mia!!!!

I don't know how many ways this was a great gift: he committed to sit through 3 hours of ABBA music with me, he went to a musical, the surprise was great, and the show was fantastic! I laughed so hard I cried (and yes, snorted a bit).

My being an ABBA fan usually gets a double take but really, I tonnes of their albums (yep - vinyl, they're the only reason we still have a turntable). Loved'em in the 70's and early 80's and I 're-discovered' them in the 90's when my roomie and I used to sit around smoking, playing Crueball and listening to ABBA after work :)
Who does she think she is?

I love ABBA!! I was so surprised when my dad died and I was looking through his CD collection and found the four disc collection.

That is too cool! Funny the things we find out about our parents after they are gone.

How wonderful! I don't think my husband would ever do that.

I must admit, I was pleasantly surprised by Mamma Mia; I saw it in Toronto. I also love ABBA, but the story line annoyed the hell out of me... I thought, why would I want to see a story about a woman who can't even keep track of who she slept with!?! Now, there's this grown daughter with an identity crisis. But, they handled it better than I thought.

This is a fairly new sweet side he's showing, and I'm not complaining one bit!

Heh - yep, after all the IVF stuff I've gone through, I kept thinking how the 3 weeks apart should pinpoint which one the dad was *g*. But ya, it was very cute, and the mother's two friends had me dying!

Aren't you the luck one! Wish my hubs would be more inspired to do things like that! I love Abba. Have you seen Muriel's Wedding?

How nice of him to do such a thing for you!...*applauds your hub(that's husband, btw..heheheheh)*

Although I never really got the whole ABBA thing, I'm glad there are still people in the world who can appreciate those folks.
