A friend of mine used to be a care giver for this little guy. He just turned 5, and in April he was diagnosed with Stage IV Neuroblastoma. She has organized a fundraiser for his family, while they concentrate on helping him get better.

If you are at all interested, you can read about his struggle and the support he has received in the community from his family's blog.

It is amazing to see what this little guy has gone through (and what is left for him - stem cell transplant next) and how well he has bounced back after such an agressive course of chemo.
Who does she think she is?

Thanks for the links. I will check them out.

I went up to Mayo in March to see if I was a good candidate for stem cell replacement, but I wasn't. I have very severe lupus.

I'm sorry to hear that it didn't work out with Mayo. Would your candidacy change at all with your biopsy results? (I've been catching up on your journal) Were you looking at donor cells or your own? (Hope you don't mind me asking these questions).

I don't think so - the plan now is just to stay on steroids until my kidneys give out, then start on dialysis. :\ I go back up to Mayo in late September, though, so we'll see!

I don't mind at all! It was donor cells. Thanks!

It really is. He is such a brave guy too. He was great at the auction - I can imagine that a situation like that would be intimidating to a 5 year old when they are feeling well, let alone being so sick.
