One thing we have here in Ontario is roads, miles and miles of roads (sorry but kilometers just doesn't flow as well). With so many roads, one or two are bound to be forgotten for say, 10 or 15 years. I mean, really, who cares if they are part of that two-lane travesty we call the Trans-Canada Highway, part of that god-forsaken 17 hour drive to get out of this province?
Adding to the delightful road system are the Canadian Shield, permafrost, and 9 months of winter. If the roads aren't forgotten, they are chewed up by frost, heaving and way too many cars every day (Carling Avenue in Ottawa comes to mind). But now is the season to embrace these roads, to celebrate their sorry state!
