Oct. 11th, 2005 @ 01:19 pm Am I the only one that thinks this way?
The subway panic in NYC last Thursday is being called a hoax. Is hoax the correct word or is test more appropriate? Find out how well the city reacts, what resources the US has to verify and move on potential threats, then build an actual attack based on your trial run.

Or, what about a case of crying wolf? Get enough of those false reports out, and people will stop reacting.
Who does she think she is?

Oh I didn't mean hoax or test that way, I meant that the 'others' are sending out these signals to see how governments respond. To see where weaknesses are to be exploited.

My fear is that they will start sending out credible info, which isn't realized until governments stop reacting (ie people get fed up) then they will attack again.

It's really a horrible position either way. I too would be totally freaked out, and staying as far away from the trains as I could.

I completely agree with you...especially b/c it freaked me out b/c my husband was in the city - over night - on business. I don't like hoax. It's bullshit to me.
