I need a lobotomy

I desperately need to find that little piece of my brain that when given an assignment, automatically rejects any topics for which I have previous knowledge, insisting instead that it will be far more interesting to select a topic for which I have no knowledge or interest. When I find said piece of my brain, I shall fish it out with a knitting needle and stomp it to death.

I am confident this will also cure my tendency to select the side of an argument I do not agree with when writing position papers.
